Photos 9-12 of 12:

I took these photos this afternoon with my Blackberry; about 1:00 P.M.

The bridge location is not very scenic, and the river at this location is not very impressive. The bridge is a standard through plate girder design, consisting of five spans, each about 100 feet long. Each span consists of seven "sections" (between floor beams) about 14 feet long. The two spans on the west end are over dry land and the bottom of the bridge is about 10 feet from the ground at this point. The other three spans, from the center, going east, are mostly over the river. There is one remaining span from the abandoned north track.

Geographically speaking, the northward-flowing river actually flows west to east at this location and the railroad runs north-south; the north end being railroad west and the south end railroad east.
