(erielack) One more 70's scan

From 1976 at Croxton:

This trai is stopped west of County Road. A muddy driveway along the tracks
towards "HX" tower was a convenient place to park and watch the action, and
many fans did just that. Although most E-L employees were friendly, there
were a few who weren't. One was a guy named "Tex"......who had an unwritten
law about anyone who walked across or along the R-O-W on railroad property.
But he was never harsh, profane, or insulting,...rather he was very
condescending and would literally "throw one out with a smile"...almost to
the point of being apologetic.........I recall one weekend day when a
freight pulled up to a switch near the crossing......the brakeman/conductor
whoever, evidently weary, pointed from the deck of the locomotive for
someone to throw the switch. I believe Curt Carlough volunteered, and no
sooner than he did, Tex came flying out of nowhere giving us all present the
proverbial "heave-ho"...we were all kind of amused by it, someone saying
that the crewman at least could have provided Curt with a time-slip for his
efforts.
