Re: (erielack) More on those L&HR detours over the EL

The first detour was due to a derailment at Pequest.

Subject: (erielack) More on those L&HR detours over the EL

Hi folks,

I was organizating my book collection (it's in quite a shambles at the
moment), and I decided to leaf through some old books I hadn't read in a
while.

I leafed through Bob Pennisi's "Northeast Railroad Scene" L&HR volume, and
there we have photos of several L&HR detours! To wit:

There were at least a pair of detours in August of 1967, and they both
traveled via the Phillipsburg Branch (I assume P'burg-Croxton-Greycourt was
the routing?)
- - A westbound led by L&HR C420 26, an L&HR RS3, and an unidentified EMD
diesel of some sort (EL? CNJ?)
- - An eastbound led by L&HR C420 221, an L&HR RS3 and another L&HR C420

There was also at least one detour move on March 4, 1969 (the book says it
was due to a derailment at Lake Grinnell on the L&HR). The train was
symbolled NE-94 (is that an L&H symbol?), and appeared to take the same
routing as the August 1967 moves.

Does anyone else have details around these detours? Were there others?

Thanks,

    - Paul
