Look at Cal-Scale parts on the Bowser website.  I think you should find a resonable replacement under domes.

I bought a Bachmann Erie Russian Decapod off ebay.  The description said "mint" but that's not how I received it.  I made a deal with the seller and got a big discount to keep the model. I figured I could just order the parts and fix it.  When I contacted Bachmann to order parts I was informed that I could not purchase two items I needed without purchasing an entire boiler shell for $25.  No thanks.  One part is a cab window.  I think I can cobble something together for an acceptable replacement.  However, the other part is a brass fixture of some type on the first steam dome in front of the cab.  I don't know what this is and therein lies my question.

This dome has a cluster of three brass valves/fixtures on it.  The missing item is the rearmost one of the three (closest to the cab).  The parts diagram shows it to have a short fat cylindrical shape.  I'm guessing it is a steam whistle but I don't know for sure.  If it's a whistle I figure I will try to order it as an aftermarket detail part.  I would like to know the name of the whistle (Nathan, etc).  What make/model of steam whistle was an Erie standard?

Is anyone out there knowledgeable enough on Russian Decapods to offer an opinion on what this part might be?

Any help would be appreciated.
