So the Erie men don't feel left out, any guess where this image of some
Alco PA's was taken?

No doubt about it---P&LE's Smithfield Street Station taken from the
walkway on the Smithfield Street Bridge.
What IS abnormal about it is that most of the Cleveland-Pittsburgh trains
used only one PA; either an Erie or a P&LE. When the P&LE retired their
PAs, the train began to change power at the Erie Station in Youngstown. The
Erie side used Alco RS-2s or the Baldwin #1140, the P&LE used one of their
GP7s.
Which brings about an long nagging question: Did and Erie E8s ever
operate over the P&LE to Pittsburgh? I've seen many photos of the PAs on the
P&LE but never the E8s. They must have been strictly NY-Chgo.
