Gas was 25-30 cents per gallon back then.
$9000 a year was a good salary.
Bread was 17 cents a loaf.
Vending machines sold Coke for 10 cents.
NYC subway fare was 15 cents.
A decent new car cost $2000-3000, depending on options.
Lots of things cost 10-15 things what they did then...
