That's right.

That's a Elesco Feedwater Heater, not a tank, exactly. Steam is routed
through this, surrounding the feedwater which is in coils inside the "tank,"
heating the water closer to boiling temperature when inserted into the
boiler. Notice that "Elesco" is a sort of acronym: Locomotive Superheater
Company, or LSCo.

This kind of tender is called a rectangular tank (I know, heavy technical
term . . . ) while the other ones your talking about are called Vanderbilt
tenders. I am imagining that the tender supplied with the IHC is incorrect
in that it's probably the wrong size, too short, in either/both height or
length. Some people are satisfied if the model has the right number of
wheels, others are annoyed if there are one or two missing rivets. I tend
toward the latter, but I think you are more toward the former. No
criticism, whatever . . .
