Re: (erielack) Erie gas electrics
Many of these were sold to a quarry and heavily rebuilt (shortened,
radiators moved, new roofline, barely recognizeable) for use there, where
they lasted into the 1970's. This would account for cars other than the
5012 lasting beyond their useful lifetimes on the Erie - as I recall from an
article (in the Diamond?) they were not all converted at once and some sat
stored for a while untill they were needed.
