Old eyes I guess.  Perhaps its time for G scale.  However, the picture =
of one of the cars in Larry's book has a very solid "E" and is listed as =
a ballast car.  The picture of the car at the bottom of the page is =
fully lettered and obviously in sand service.

      Most of the company service cars were the older DL&W ACF cars - =
and unfortunately, no one makes a model of this one! <UGH>
      By the way, the "solid E" was used solely on the rebuilt ballast =
cars (all redone, by the way, from those DL&W cars!). The photo I sent =
of the Bowser-style car with just the diamond has a "broken" E - check =
it again! :)

    I first noted the black on white version in Larry's book (p.119).  =
These were obviously pulled from the ex-Lackawanna 18xxx and 19xxx =
series.  The pictures Paul sent seem to be from the EL 21xxx series.  I =
note that when the name is left off, the diamond used seems to have the =
solid "E".
