(erielack) NYSW/UP/Erie Connections.

Those who used to watch the discovery channel will remember a show
called "Connections", and later "Connections =B2".

This looks like a good storyline for that series.

Good work Todd, if UP power becomes "Q" power...

Did anyone hear something about NYS&W purchasing some used high horse Union
Pacific motive power recently? By the way did you know UPRR celebrated it's
140th Anniversary on July 8,2002! President Abraham Lincoln signed into law
the Pacific Railway act in 1862 forming the UPRR.
Is this EL content you ask? Sure, those UP engines trace their heritage to
Mr. Harriman who controlled the Erie at one time, and the Erie RR supplied
locomotives to the Susquehanna RR. And of course they will be operating on
former Erie trackage... history somewhat repeats itself in a round about
way! If this is the case will NYS&W be adding more traffic to the southern
tier? Or just retire the well worn SD-45's (A former EL trademark) from
their roster.

Hmmm one of those SD-45's sure would look nice in EL paint :)

Ok, back to the regularly scheduled EL programming, Happy 140th Birthday
UPRR... quite a milestone when you consider most of us are consumed by a
Railroad that struggled to see it's 15th birthday and vanished from sight!
The way things are going I bet the mighty UP will gobble up some former EL
trackage in the not too distant future, Mr. Harriman will get a chuckle out
of that I bet!
