Tim, I beg to differ.  If you read the minutes of the Board and the
Executive Committee . . . ownership is one thing, control is another.  While
Harriman was on the Board, he got his way.

Harriman owned stock in the Erie, but he never controlled it.  It was
firmly in the Morgan camp until well after Harriman had died.
