with reference to the recent l shaped screen on EL SD45 801/2/3, the 
bottom photo on page 89 of preston cook's book erie lackawanna memories 
clearly shows SD45 803 from the head end with an l shaped screen on the 
engineers side, with a notation in the caption about the "unusual" 
feature on an eastern road engine.
