(erielack) WC 6634/EL 3656 sold

Group,

Just received word the CN has successfully auctioned off EL 3656/WC 6634
yesterday.

The locomotive sold for $16,650 and was part of a lot of three sold to a
single entity (not clear who yet, I'm trying to find out), along with WC
6627 and 6613 (both of the latter were sold in operational
condition...the 6627, former ATSF 5397 for $16,000 and the 6613,
formerly ATSF 5377, for the high price of $33,000).

Further, it's not at all clear that the 6634/3656 is going to a museum!
The way the article reads is this:

12,100 - GP-35 still with turbo, retired running, went to museum at
Spooner, Wis.
33,000 - SD-45, retired running, WC 6613, highest price paid for any
unit
at sale.
16,500 - SD-45, retired running, WC 6627, same buyer as above.
16,650 - SDP-45, B/O turbo, WC 6634, same buyer as above.

I take this to read that the three SD/SDP45s are going to the same
buyer, but not necessarily the Museum in Spooner, WI.

Time will tell, CN would obviously like these units out of its hair very
soon so we'll see where they're headed.
