Doug, I really enjoyed the wreck fotos. I was fireman on the wreck train. We came up from Binghamton with the wreck train & then ran around the train in order to shove it to the wreck. As we were maneuvering, Sammy Miller (RFE) & another official came running up screaming "stop, stop!". an oil& gas distributor on the North side of the tracks had parked a tank truck near the siding & as we shoved equipment up the siding, we took the hoses, valves, etc off the back of the truck where it overhung the siding. Gas & oil trickled all over & one more foot & there would have been a conflagration. I forget why the flagman didn't stop us.......maybe he ran away. I posted this earlier, but maybe some of the guys haven't seen it. I just now thought - that would have been the end of Sammy, he was standing right there.
