Paul, E-rail is at the former Eport shops area along the CNJ Mainline east of the Chemical Coast. It is easily viewed from the new roadway network and overpasses near the Jersey Gardens Mall. In the Conrail split, NS got the former CNJ Mainline property to the east of the Chemical Coast line (CNJ north/south line), the Chem Coast remained a Conrail Shared Assets line, and CSX got the former Eport freight yards to the west of the Chemical Coast Line. They turned this into a bulk transfer type operation. I think the CSX ownership extends all the way to the Broad Street Elizabeth area, then Conrail takes over from there to Aldene. The trackage through Elizabeth has not been used for some time, although there have been reports of empty baretables stored on the track near the US Route 1 & 9 bridge. CNJ Portside became the Roadrailer yard until NS discontinued that service a few years after split. The Port Authority of NY & NJ has funded numerous improvements in the Port Newark/Elizabeth area that has resulted in added yard tracks and even a flyover to allow grade separation of the access to the on-dock facility (Expressrail or Dockside depending on who you are talking to). Others on this list are more familiar with this than me, but hopefully this gets you started. Rich Wisneski
