Time to turn the calendar again! The November 2005 EL calendar shot featured a General Electric U50C in gray primer with two EL units (a U33C and GP35) heading over to the Port Jervis engine facility. What's surprising is that this brand-new unit already has oily stains along its walkway! Note the unit wears its UP number, in UP typeface. There was a discussion on this list last year about the caption statement: "The unit was pulled from the GE plant prematurely to avoid getting tied up in an impending labor dispute." Since this was apparently the only unit to be pulled out and run, that statement may not be completely true. If anyone was at the ELDCPS convenetion in Scranton two weeks ago, you got to see Frank Etzel's films of these three units leading an eastbound at Pond Eddy, PA (much to Frank's surprise!) Would you like to be the one to climb up and wash the windshields on this beast? :) - Paul The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org ------------------------------
