The train is indeed wb, as the tower is on the N side of tracks. The headend hoppers will be set out at Salamanca, the next yard west, for interchange with the B&P (the first two are lettered for B&O and affiliate RDG); they may be returning empty from the Portland PA generating sta. Those are the PRR interchange tracks on the right, occupying the SE quadrant of the Xing; the small EL yard is on the opposite side of the EL main. EL in color V2 on pg 24 has a shot from the tower which shows this layout nicely. Paul B The December EL calendar image features a shot that, at first glance, appeared to be Campbell Hall. But it's not - it's the EL's crossing of the PRR at Olean, NY at X Tower. This day's train is led by a typical mid-1960s EL lashup (where they ran matched sets of new motive power), featuring three GP35s in numerical order (2563-2565). All the GP's are part of the second order that featured the thinner sidesill section over the fuel tank and the roadname in yellow in the maroon band. They also have the black glass numberboards with "hollow" numbers, which would soon be replaced with white plexiglass with black numbers. The photo must have been taken shortly after delivery, as the units still have their horns in the original location on the fireman's side of the cab. These would later be moved to the center of the top of the cab to conform with EL's new clearance diagrams. We can also see some details in the freight cars on this train - head out are four hoppers (I assume empties, as this train appears to be headed west) The cars at the right rear of this image - is that on an interchange track with the Pennsy here?
