In a bit of serendipity, I happened to purchase on ebay
recently the construction drawings for the very same double
track crossing the train is about to traverse. They are
dated Feb. 21, 1950. The crossing is described as a
"Reversible Manganese Crossing". The rail was 115 lb. The
two Erie tracks were spaced on 13' 1.5" centers, while
interestingly, the PRR's were closer at 12' 3.5". As soon
as I can get the plan to a large enough scanner, I'll post
them.

I'd buy a few. And just what color is X tower painted? Is
it the yellowish "buff" color, or is it a faded grey-green?
