I guess I can throw in my two-cents about the picture taken off of the Thruway at Arden, New York. The ruggedness of the small Ramapo Mountains stands out more than the engines. This was in EL's dull black and yellow period-also their filthy locomotive period prior to William White. One thing I do wonder about is the hostler who lashed up the engines. One would thing the two Alcos would be trying to push the EMD's off the track at start up.
