Does anyone have any photos of the inside of this type of crossing tower? I
am building a model of a similar tower that stood in Newark, NJ and would
like to add some interior detail. Also, what color where these towers
painted?

Thanks,
Ed

Since a few people asked, here's a photo from my collection of the crossing
tower at Croxton that I'm working on. I've since been told that the tower
was used to control crossing gates - an armstrong mechanism (countebalanced)
was used to lower and raise the arms. There was a pipe running under all the
yard tracks to reach the far gate.
