Looks like the Orange Branch Bloomfield Avenue crossing tower days are numbered as the photo shows the gate mechanism for automatic crossing protection already in place. Which raises a question. Were the manned crossings removed on a piecemeal basis or did the railroad undertake system-wide or area-wide programs to remove them?
