This continued to be a problem at Croxton right through the EL years, acc to Bill Gale. Perhaps Bill Sheppard can comment on this. Trailers presented lots of opportunity for mischief, including fuel being siphoned out of reefer units and vanished meat hooks. All affecting the bottom line, of course. Paul B One historical tidbit comes to mind. A friend of mine worked a summer job in Croxton in the Fifties. He told me once that a big headache with the Erie piggyback operation was that some customers would bring the Erie trailers back having replaced the good Erie tires with junkies.
