Now for another pestering question. since this was a 4 unit set, would both the A units have the same number and have smaller letters added to side sill to designate the a and the d units? They look like F-7s except for the dynamic brake which has the two screened slots rather than a fan. There was one other set of F-3s that the Erie obtained used, that being the ex-O&W, which was a "chicken wire" style, low fans, and the large angled number boards. These became Erie 714A-D (numbered above the F-7 sets). I don't know the date that these came to the Erie roster, but they did have the Erie "wings" scheme. I believe that these units came to the Erie in lieu of storage payments for the O&W engines stored, seemingly forever, at Croxton after the O&W abandonment.
