The AMC was the "Advisory Mechanical commitee" that was set up initially to oversee all mechanical issue with the four Van Sweringen roads especially with reguards to new power in conjunction with Lima Locomotive Works ( The roads being Erie , Nickle Plate C&O and Pere Marquette) They "stadardized" as best they could with steam common practices and shop procedures and had a master listing for all drawings for motive power , structures and signage, engineering. I work on the Nickle Plate 765 berk out of ft. Wayne as well as the 4449 Daylight and CP 2816 hudson and have extensive rebuilding experience on Worthington S type systems. Have had to repair one in 5 states and two countries and currently trying to stabalize the one on the berk from some inconsistencies. The hot water pump always is the problem as the cold water pump is just a Pyle national MO with a centrefugal pump on one end instead of a generator and the exchanger portion is very simple in it's function the hot water pump is the most finicky.
