This would be another great area to research. The railroad certainly did
odd things in those transition years (how about F7 6114 in DL&W "freight
scheme" with EL lettering replacing LACKAWANNA?)

There were two of these - touched up DL&W-painted units with EL
"touches" - and they didn't last long painted this way.

That I completely believe - stuff repainted in Scranton vs. Hornell came
out rather differently. :)
