The picture of #21 at Port Jervis brings back some memories and questions. Obviously this was probably an excursion with the extra coach added. Is that a coach/diner sort of arrangement? I was surprised to see how fast EL downgraded the passenger service on the Delaware Division. As soon as they consolidated passenger service, the diners came off and the train was reduced to one coach. It's hard to imagine how passenger usage disappeared in a location where there were no major highways to compete but maybe not surprising if there were no people! 21 and 22 originally carried an RPO. In later years that was cut off. I'm wondering about the baggage car in this picture. Did it carry an REA messenger? Or maybe storage mail at this time?
