I agree with Joshua. There are pictures in various publications and websites
(I believe one of the Pennisi books contains one) that show former Erie E8s
wearing Erie 2-tone green but with the EL logo and "ERIE LACKAWANNA" on the
flanks located aft of the entry door.
This is also how Dan Cupper asserted in his 1984 Trains article about EL
833/CR 4022 ("The Executive E"?) that the 4022 has worn 6 paint schemes, with
the 2-tone green EL scheme being the second and GMY the third.

I didn't think so. What is the repaint history of the ex Erie and the ex
DL&W Erie units anywho? Weren't they re marked Erie Lackawanna? Obviously
the engine in the photo is an ex Erie unit painted GMY, when would they have
first painted ex Erie units GMY?
