Any chance of getting a shot of 1278 posted on the list? It's still operating at a quarry in Illinois, I believe Kevin DeGroff posted photos within the last 2-3 years of it. It's still wearing CR blue paint and has a retrofitted "diagonal" handrail on the short hood end, similar to the DL&W passenger Geeps. Note that this handrail was put on by the EL. > And how about the status of all those rare DL&W > RS-3 survivors listed here? i thought only one survived on > the Housatonic RR. I believe all the statuses are up-to-date, but I thought the MDDE wasn't operating anymore? Not sure where the three RS3s ended up. Isn't it odd that NO Erie RS3s survive? How's that? They had many more of them... > Also, according to this EL SW1200 456 was > restored to it's original number 561, in DL&W paint? This site missed the other "heavily modified" extant EL diesels: The three U33C's that were rebuilt without cabs and with remote control, painted solid black, and are supposedly in use at a mine in China. Not sure if they still run, but as of the mid-1980s, that's where they went to. The site also reminded me of one thing: Where is WC 6634? (former EL SDP45) It's been five years since it was last reported, and I have a very bad feeling it's sitting in a backlot now being picked clean for parts... :( :( :( Anyone know for sure? - - Paul The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List Sponsored by the ELH&TS http://www.elhts.org To Unsubscribe: http://lists.elhts.org/erielackunsub.html

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone.
