Rich, There are several good options for the procedure. My favorite is Scalecoat paint remover. Immerse for 10 minutes, then scrub with fine bristle toothbrush under warm tap water. Repeat as necessary. This stuff can be reused. There is a theoretical risk that it might craze some plastisc. Place some on a portion of interior shell for 10 minutes to check. While we're on the subject of paint, I came across a tip yesterday while researching colors. To eliminate bleed-under when airbrushing a second color, spray a light spray of the first (masked) color at an angle towards the edge of the masking tape. This seals it, thus preventing bleed-under. Keeping it light avoids filletting. They were supposed to be undecorated (Stock # 8129) but turned out to be apparently two of Life-Like's early attempts at Erie colors. In a nutshell......really bad....bad colors on the paint, bad decals, just everything doesn't even begin to compare with their later superb Erie decorated units. I know this has been covered before but I would like to know what is the best technique to strip these shells without damage? Thanks in advance!
