Todd et al,
I have not been watching this close enough and would have missed your
question concerning ELHS dues renewal if it wasn't for Schuyler.
We actually started the renewal process later than usual this year in an
attempt to collect 2008 membership dues in 2008 rather than mostly at the
end of 2007. Randy Dettmer has been sending out renewal notice in a
staggered fashion since the beginning of December. He just sent the last
group of notices to members in NJ, NY, OH, & PA at the end of last week. I
received mine today and suspect other in these states will be receiving them
in their mailboxes soon.
There are a couple of other things going on this year as well. First, if
you were a member of ELH&TS in good standing during 2007 you will be
automatically enrolled as a Regular Member in the ELHS for 2008 as a result
of the merger of the two organizations. In this case you will not receive a
renewal notice; just a confirmation letter that you are current for 2008.
If you would like you can upgrade your ELHS membership from Regular to
Sustaining or Patron by sending in the difference between the Regular
Membership and one of these upgrades. Second, if you would like, you can
join the ELDCPS (Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society) and the
ELHS for $55.00 This is a joint, regular or basic membership in both
organizations. In addition you can also add $20.00 to any membership level
above the Regular membership and become a member of ELDCPS.
You can renew your membership online at
http://www.erielackhs.org/ELHS/ELHSJoinOnline.html . This applies to ELHS
renewal and ELHS/ELDCPS Joint membership but does not apply to upgrading a
Regular Membership through the merger process with the ELH&TS. Here is the
link to the announcement of the ELHS and ELH&TS merger For those of you who
have missed it the first time around.

This announcement also explains the membership benefit applied to ELH&TS
members in good stand during 2007.
I hope this helps.
Have save and prosperous New Year,
Paul Cappelloni

Subject: (erielack) Need help modeling EL TOFC vans
Hi folks.
My early-mid 70's TOFC fleet is nearly complete, largely with the help of
list members. The only thing I'd still like to get is some EL ribbed side
trailers with the Diamond logo. I know of the Atlas "ultra-smooth" side
trailers and they just don't cut it for me. I had a line on some generic rib
sides from a dealer on E-Bay who also has their own website. Unfortunately
that was lost after a PC crash ( that's personal computer, not Penn Central,
lol ). Any help with those trailers or any other that would at least be good
stand-ins would be highly appreciated. As far as the decals, Micro-Scale has
long been sold out and I never have found any others offered. Any ideas on
that? Anyone have some to copy? Thanks for any and all help.
Todd K. Stearns
P.S. When is the due date for sending in yearly dues for ELHS? Can't find
that anywhere either.
