(erielack) Re: LV-D&H Trains

Bob,

The LV Auburn branch closely paralleled the Erie from Sayre to Owego, then
turned north towards Auburn (and Fair Haven). At Owego, there was a
connection between the LV and Erie (specifically the north or WB track). D&H
had trackage rights from there to Binghamton, so you're correct, LV did not
have track or rights per se into Bingo. LV power operated to Bingo by virtue
of the joint operation with D&H, which had the trackage rights. Is that
clearer now?

Paul B

Okay, now I'm really lost. How did the LV get from Owego to Bingo? I can
find no record of LV tracks east of Owego. I thought the rights agreement
was between Erie and D&H. Was there an trackage rights agreement between
Erie-LV? All three? If so, what was it and if not how did this work?

Thanks, but puzzled,

Bob
