Many years later, when indian tribes blocked CN and CP main lines across
the top of the
Great Lakes in Canada, those two roads asked Conrail to detour their trains
between
Buffalo/Niagara Falls and Chicago for a number of days. Just as EL
experienced, these
international detours resulted in considerable delays getting trains through
customs.
