Only two of the ex-DL&W E8s (815 in 12/62 and 816 in 1971) received the solid nose doors. The 809 had its upper headlight plated over in 1974. The rest of the ex-DL&W units retained the door-mounted headlight with two lights in the top headlight casing. Most, if not all, lost their red emergency bulb in favor of a standard clear bulb, but I'm not sure if the circuit to turn them on when the unit went into emergency was still hooked up. - Paul The Erie Lackawanna Mailing List http://EL-List.railfan.net/ To Unsubscribe: http://Lists.Railfan.net/erielackunsub.html ------------------------------
