Now that I have the chance to discover this area, I sure regret missing the chance to see the EL era along the Delaware Division, it was a bit of a distance for this teenager to hop on a bike and go. :) Here's a few photos from my trip Along the Delaware River, I happened upon a few Erie/EL locations along the way.The first is a Former B&M (Guliford) GP-9 parked on the Honesdale Branch, it was shut down and coupled to two passenger cars. I will include this photo of Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct used on the D&H Canal, it is within sight of the Geep, the bridge is the oldest existing wire suspension bridge in the United States; it runs 535 feet over the Delaware River here in Lackawaxen, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1847, and looks to me in better shape than that 1950's GP-9, The next images are some views of Mill Rift bridge, you can not see it in the photos, but the bridge was painted with an ERIE advertisement with the NEW YORK TO CHICAGO slogan above the road (Right around the corner from teh Zane Gray house), the last view shows the many ways the bridge abutment has been altered over the years to keep it in operation. I have always seen Mill Rift in photos and video, it was strange seeing it from this angle the first time in person!
