Re: (erielack) Article quoted from Trains.com with attention to the graphic designer referred to.

We started off, rather informally, as the Erie Railfan Society.  Eventually others formalized the ERS into the present ELHS.  Us "old guys" carried out "seniority" over to the new organization.
