Hi folks, Weird NJ Magazine just released a special issue called "Nightshade on the Passaic," chronicling the writer's trips up and down the Passaic River in his tniy motorboat, "Nightshade" (hence the book title). It is an utterly fascinating read, and as many of us know, the EL crossed the Passaic at several locations. Well, it seems that the author photographed most of those crossings! The back cover has a great shot of the bascule draw on the Newark Branch, there are partial views of the Boonton Line crossing at HX, and even a nice broadside of the Boonton Line at Little Falls, almost flooded out by the river. A little amount of EL content in there, but if you're a New Jerseyan interested in local exploration, it's a terrific read and highly recommend it.
