Since I grew up about 300' from the Boonton Line just over the river, many times a full freight train would stop behind my house and stay for an extended period of time. Since it was single track, it couldn't be waiting on an opposing train and it didn't seem to be following a train on it's yellows. So the chances are that it is quite possible that E. Lincoln Park wasn't the only place an EB freight would stop and cut off the train. The power on these stopped trains was well beyond my sight so it was hard to tell if the power had cut off and I wasn't up on OS procedures as a pre-teen. There you have...an eyewitness....
