I was looking at the September Calendar picture and the thought came to me that the Port Jervis trains were the last ones the E's actually could move at speed with. I imagine they could "strut their stuff" east of Suffern and on the Bergen County line. One additional thought that came to me unrelated to the calendar pictures. Erie, Lackawanna, and other roads had arranged consists for trains. Yet when you look at pictures, extras often show up with some head-end cars, express or milk. I'm wondering how these arrangements were worked out. How did the forwarding of extra cars wind up on extra movements?
