>I will be giving a public program on the South Buffalo Railway on
>Thursday, September 18th at the Masonic Cummunity Center, 2379 Union
>Rd, Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Some EL content includes photos of SB
>passenger trains which left from the DL&W depot. Also photos of the
>Society's DL&W caboose on display at Bethlehem Steel. Originally,
>this was the Lackawanna Steel Plant with its DL&W ties, such as the
>Moses Taylor hospital they established here for Steel and DL&W
>workers. Below is a write-up on the program:
>
>"Our September program will cover the history of the South Buffalo
>Railway. Ron Dukarm has dipped into the Society archives and put
>together a Power-Point presentation, beginning in 1905 when the
>South Buffalo Railway was incorporated. Rare early steam and narrow
>gauge operations are coved, along with SB's passenger service and depots!
>
>Many years ago the Society acquired the official SB photographs the
>Railway had taken in the 1940s and 1950s. Ron has put together a
>number of insider views never before seen by the public, augmented
>by a collection of personal photos taken by a SB engineer covering these years.
>
>Finally, the program concludes with a series of photos taken by
>Devan Lawton of "Railroads on Parade", the Railroad Show sponsored
>by the Society at the Bethlehem Steel plant in 1984. Again, this is
>the first time the public has seen these behind the scenes photos of
>the rail equipment plus the publicity passenger train that we
>operated throughout the plant property for VIPs."

Ron,

Can you share the PPT with the list or those of us who can't be there
in person due to geography?

And it'd be nice if Devan joined this list to share his experiences
as an engineer out of Buffalo (mostly) on the EL.

Thank you.
