Re: (erielack) Erie modelling info

Thanks Jim, I will post any photos I only plan to re-decal a CNJ
version that is currently available.

Hi Andy;

This sounds like a great project! While I can't say for sure about the
lettering/paint that K-Line uses, you very likely will be able to
remove, if
you really feel you need to. Try the 90% rubbing alcohol, not the 70%
(which
is just diluted with water). Barring that, you can always try to
wet-sand
away any lettering that you can get to with small pieces or strips of
600-grit wet-or-dry sandpaper. I find that, once you remove what you
can,
re-coat it with black (after applying any details, etc) then decaling
and
weathering, you'd never know the lettering wasn't stripped off.

Oh - and please show us your efforts! From the Workbench would VERY much
like to feature some O material, but few O-scalers share their work.

Good morning, has anyone that is modelling O scale taken one of the
K-Line
boxcab locos and relettered it for the Erie version?
Before I buy one, I was wondering if the factory lettering is removable
with
alcohol or something just as easy.

Thanks
