While I can't say for sure about the lettering/paint that K-Line uses, you very likely will be able to remove, if you really feel you need to. Try the 90% rubbing alcohol, not the 70% (which is just diluted with water). Barring that, you can always try to wet-sand away any lettering that you can get to with small pieces or strips of 600-grit wet-or-dry sandpaper. I find that, once you remove what you can, re-coat it with black (after applying any details, etc) then decaling and weathering, you'd never know the lettering wasn't stripped off.
