One last note about the September picture. It shows a combination of A/C Stillwells and regular Stillwell coaches. I think this picture was taken just before New York State paid for EL to refurbish the A/C cars, repainting them with Erie green'gray and gold. I saw the A/C Stillwells show up on the Greenwood Lake trains on occasion as well. When the consists were mixed like this, did the trainmen run the A/C or was it inoperative at that time.
