We learned three other things about building the layout: 1. NEVER cover the head of a screw with another piece of wood. If you do, it is absolutely guaranteed that you will end up needing to remove that screw. 2. Round off the corners of all exposed L-girder and joist ends. They will draw blood from your scalp. 3. The risers should be cut off at least flush with, if not slightly above, the bottom of the joist it's attached to. They too will draw blood from your scalp.
