One thing to add to this line on superelevated curves. When Lackawanna was using the Boonton Line for freight, the curve through Towaco station was superelevated. I can remember watching freight trains lean in while speeding through. Also, the curve just west of Mountain View station on Parish Drive had a distinctive tilt to it. I don't think NJT has continued the superelevation at Towaco, have they?
