I am really amazed at the amount of such a mundane subject as punched cars! One final note to return to railraoding...when I started at IBM in Endicott during 1953 there was an Erie baggge car spotted on the siding behind the IBM plant every couple of wekks. It was my understanding that they shipped finished business machines to the west coast this way. Interesting to know, but I suspect these were Railway Express shipments by the carlaod, similiar to the traffic in express reefers rather than just shipped by the Erie. Trouble with research is that it leads to more questions!
