RE: (erielack) Website Update - 11/01/2008

Schuyler,

There are earlier Sanborn maps than the ones I have. Unfortunately, my
account has expired and until I get another one, I don't have access to
them. When I do, I'll see what I can find.

Geez, Jon, a home run for me this time. Binghamton Sanborns, Erie 0-6-0s,
and the 0-8-8-0s. Greats
stuff.

Do you know if there were Sanborns from any earlier than the ones you have
scanned? Did they even
exist? Both the ERIE and the Lackawanna rebuilt their stations there
sometime after 1900, but I
don't know exactly when. And MH Connor is writing up Binghamton for the
convention next year, and
I'd like to see that change covered. The original DL&W station was where
the freight station is in
the Sanborns you have here, and was relocated to Lewis Street then. This
shows in some of those
"birds-eye views" you can find (I have one) but it'd be even better if it
could be shown by use of
maps.
