eBay post card 370012670091 is interesting on several counts. - Describes U.S. President Wilson as giving a rear-platform speech at the Waverly station. - Is an RPO cancellation for Erie Train 8 - It appears that the cancellation is Nov 1, 1916. If so, this would make his speech a campaign whistle-stop, on the DL&W, in the closing stages of the 1916 election campaign. Gives some indication of the importance of the DL&W and its territory, if the incumbent President was giving a speech from a Lackawanna train, a few days before the election. - Crosses the US - Canada border, going to its destination in Ottawa. To me, it's a fascinating intersection of presidential politics, the DL&W, and the Erie. I have no stake in this auction.
