Float traffic to Brooklyn and Long Island was substantial right to the end of EL. Your ATSF-100 consist from Feb, 1976 shows 18 loads for LIRR and 2 for BEDT, or roughly 20% of loaded cars in the Croxton block. No doubt there are more off other trains that day. BTW, is "YA" the symbol for the float dock at Hoboken? Paul B From: "Tupaczewski, Paul R \(Paul\)" <paultup_@_alcatel-lucent.com> Subject: (erielack) The Weekend Chief 2009 EL calendar December's shot is probably my favorite. A beautifully-lit shot of SW8 #363 and floatbridge reach car FBR-1 shoving a string of cars in Hoboken, NJ onto a carfloat out of sight in the distance. The shot was taken in Dec. of 1975, and it's pretty surprising to see that much float traffic being moved at that time. The shot bespeaks of a vibrant railroad.
