Re: (erielack) DL&W NW-2s- Could They MU?



Hi Bob,

Looking for the photo I mentioned earlier, I came across a photo caption in Robert Liljestrand and David Sweetland's book EL Diesel Locomotives, Volume 1 Switchers, page 37, which states that MU capability was added to 481 to ensure two MU-capable units were always available.

And I need to correct my previous post....according to the same photo caption, the units were purchased for a road freight assignment on the Bloomsburg Branch.  However, I recall another photo, which I can't find right now, which did say the units were used in EL years for transfer to/from Taylor.  I'll keep looking for that one.
