Yes, Neil, the commuter bus will be faster most of the time but the train is more comfortable and with the slight time difference, it will work. For people like me who leave Manhattan on a Friday during the rush hour, I won't have to sit in tunnel traffic as well as bumper-to-bumper across a good portion of NJ. On holidays it will work as well. There is nothing worse than seeing those unused tracks when one is sitting in traffic near the Water Gap knowing that once the pols stop attempting to reinvent the wheel, we could cross the Cut-Off and enjoy the ride all the way to Scranton where the equipment will be serviced. NJT is probably one of the best commuter railroads in the country. Today, we went to Newark via NJT for the Devils-Ottawa game. It's a 17-minute ride and was in both directions and our Devils won. Hats off to New Jersey Transit. They're real railroaders just like EL was. They get the job done. When service is restored, they are the railroad that will make it work. The NJT people are polite and they will get my bucks. Today, we had nothing more than good service, a great game and got to roam around Newark Penn Station, which looks great. Also, hats off to Mayor Booker. He has a tough job but he cares. Rick **************Stay up-to-date on the latest news - from fashion trends to celebrity break-ups and everything in between.
