Martz is definately one of the under the radar opponents to the restoration of Scranton rail serivce. Why wouldn't they be? They're the only game in town so to speak. I honestly wonder who's pockets they are lining. This has become nothing more than the theatre of the absurd. We get to sit in traffic and at roughly $85 round trip from New York to Scranton, it's ridiculous. The same run from New York to Harftord CT is half the cost. Why? Simple. Harftord has train service, competition. Scranton doesn't. I honestly think that Martz is very afraid of NJT and they should be. While riding the rails may take a bit longer, people will pay for the comfort, convince and a much smoother ride. Our region needs a fourth commuter railroad. It's time.
